If you’re exploring your options for a low slope commercial roofing product, EPDM is a great solution to consider. Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) is a synthetic rubber used to create a watertight roofing membrane. One of the most durable commercial roofing products on the market today, property owners can expect to get upwards of 30 years of use out of an EPDM system.

Low Slope Commercial Roofing

A commercial roof is considered low slope if it has a slope less than or equal to 3:12, or 14 degrees. Low slopes require special, water impermeable roofing applications. The durability of an EPDM membrane make it an ideal solution for low slope commercial roofs.

VersiGard® EPDM

At Elite Roofing we’re proud to work exclusively with VersiGard® EPDM membranes. Having been in the industry for more than 50 years, Verigard has earned a reputation as the leader in the space. In fact, they offer an unprecedented 30-year warranty on their EPDM commercial roofing systems. This is precisely why we are proud to offer VersiGard solutions to our customers.

Long Lasting & Repairable

Not only do these systems come with a 30-year warranty, they can easily be repaired. Commercial property owners are often able to further extend the life of an EPDM with a low-cost repair. Forget replacing your low-slope commercial roof again in 15 or 20 years, invest in a roofing system that will last upwards of 30.

Your Low Slope EPDM Commercial Roof

If you’re wondering if EPDM is in fact the right choice for your low slope roof, in most cases it’s safe to assume that it is. However, it is always a good idea to consult a roofing professional. At Elite Roofing we are proud to offer free, no-obligation roofing inspections. Allow one of our highly experienced commercial roofing specialists to inspect your roof and help you determine if EPDM is in fact the right solution for your needs.

Schedule Your Free Roof Inspection Today!

Roof Insurance Claim Process: What to Expect When Filing Your Claim

At Elite Roofing we understand that filing a homeowners’ claim can be both daunting and overwhelming. However, educating yourself about the insurance claims process can make the whole thing less intimidating and ultimately protect you and your property. This is why we’re devoting today’s post to understanding the roof insurance claim process.

Type of Insurance Policy

It’s important to first familiarize yourself with your insurance policy. There are two main types of homeowners’ policies:

Actual Cash Value (ACV)

These policies are less common than RCV and typically cost less because they offer reduced coverage and higher depreciation. As a result, policy holders typically incur much higher out of pocket costs.

Replacement Cost Value (RCV)

These policies tend to be a bit more expensive and, as a result, policy holders enjoy full replacement coverage. With an RCV policy, you will have a single out of pocket expense to cover your deductible, your insurance provider then will step in to cover the rest.

The Insurance Claim Process

There is no need to be intimidated by the insurance claims process, it’s actually quite simple. You can expect the entire process to follow this cadence:

Professional Roof Inspection

Have a professional roofing inspection before calling your insurance provider. This is critical for a number of reasons. You may find that you do not have extensive enough damage to warrant an insurance claim. Should you find that you do need to file a claim, your inspection will provide a clear analysis of the state of your roof. Information, which will be imperative for advocating for yourself as you interface with the your insurance company.

File Insurance Claim

If you determine that you do have enough damage to substantiate an insurance claim, this is time to reach out to your insurer.

Insurance Adjustments

At this time you will be assigned an adjuster who will be charged with inspecting your roof and any other damage your property has sustained.

First Insurance Estimate & Check

Once your adjuster as surveyed your damage, they will provide an estimate for repairs and present you with your first check.

Send Check to Mortgage Company

If you have a mortgage company, you will need to send your check to them to have it endorsed. This is very critical to ensure that your mortgage company does not hold up the process.

Construction

At this point, your repairs can begin. Your roofing contractor will order materials and begin the construction process.

Complete Supplement Process

Work with your contractor’s supplement department to ensure all project specs are accounted for and accurate. This is critical in ensuring that your roof repair or replacement is fully covered.

Second Insurance Estimate & Check

Once the supplement process is complete, you will receive your second and final check along with your final project scope.

Close Your Project & Warranty Paperwork

Once everything is complete, it’s time to close the job with your contractor and receive your final warranty paperwork.
